The Church of St James the Great, Shirley is above all, a church of the community that it serves. It is very much a living church, growing and changing with Shirley itself as they both move forward into the future.
St. James' Church is situated on the Stratford Road in Shirley. It was built in 1832 and began life as a Chapel of Ease to Solihull Parish Church. The Shirley Team Ministry expanded to become the Salter Street & Shirley Team Ministry in the year 2000 with the inclusion of St. Patrick's, Salter Street.
The Church is open for private prayer each day between 9.00am and 6.00pm
